Ford Figo receives 25,000plus sales bookings in 100 days
We are happy to share with everyone that since the launch in March 2010, your favourite Figo has registered over 25,000 sales bookings, cementing its reputation as one of India’s most in-demand new cars. Ford Figo has also helped drive a sales volume of 235% for Ford India compared to year-on-year first half sales.
Michael Boneham, President & MD, Ford India commented on this development: Reaching the 25,000 sales booking milestone in close to 100 days continues the Figo’s remarkable rise and rise in popularity among Indian consumers. Figo’s success has exceeded expectations in terms of sales and target markets. Our debut compact car offering is being very well received by a wide range of customers and this response has been instrumental in our efforts to increase market share.
In the January-June period, Ford sales volume, on a year-to-year basis, doubled in Tier 1 markets including Mumbai (234%); Chennai (279%) and Delhi and the NCR region (223%). In terms of regional sales, there was a similar response – east (339%); west (277%), north (212%) and south (127%). Big gains – double, and in some cases, triple fold growth – were registered in Tier II markets such as Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kochi, Coimbatore, Indore, Bhopal and Jaipur and Tier III markets such as Dehradun, Trichy, Nashik, Aurangabad and Kanpur. In addition to strong internal demand, Ford India has also recently celebrated it first export order of 1,200 Ford Figos to Ford Motor Company in South Africa.
Based on the number of queries recorded by dealers nationwide and showroom visitors, the second half of the year looks equally promising. The Figo campaign is supported by a range of Ford India-led service and sales programmes that includes:
1. Ongoing development of the dealership network. There are currently 167 dealership outlets across 97 cities nationwide
2. Ongoing expansion of the after-sales service network nationwide
3. Consistently updating and enhancing the cost of ownership programme – for example, Figo is a market leader in terms of scheduled service over a 5 year/100,000 kilometre period. Other offerings include the Total Maintenance Plan (TMP) and Scheduled Service Plan (SSP) that allows customers to purchase extended service plans for regular maintenance items for up to 100,000 kilometres or five years, at reduced rates.
We thank everyone for making the Figo a dashing success. Keep driving Ford.
Well I hope for 24999 the hood opens at the time of delivery..
Here is a review of my Figo delivery.
Took Delivery of my Figo Exi (petrol) Sea Gray from Wasan Ford In Chembur on Sunday July 25. Salesperson had been polite through the booking process although not as responsive or “on top of things” as I would have liked. Some last minute snafus had me push the delivery date from Fri (July 23) to Sunday. 15 deliveries were scheduled for that day and the dealership was buzzing with somewhat organized chaos.
Arrived at Dealership at 11am. Car was parked inside the showroom with number plate attached and “Quality Checked” sticker on the windshield and plastic covers on all seats.
Car was spotless on the outside and the inside. 57kms on the odo (seemed a bit high).Tank had about 96kms worth of fuel (~9 litres). Tried out the audio system. Radio reception was a bit sketchy (improved once the car was outside the showroom) but oem sound was decent. checked all the lights and indicators. Remote key controls. – door unlocking, locking, trunk release (premium feature on this segment car), driver only unlocking (programmable). Everything checked out until we got to hood release handle…. uh oh did the “Quality Checked” sticker have any meaning anymore.
Try as we may we couldn’t get the hood to open. After about 15-20 mins of futility it was decided to take the car to their service center in Deonar. I had had lesser trouble with my prior used car purchases. I was like “If this is the situation pre-delivery GOD only help us ….”. The salesman who was supposed to accompany us to the service center was taking his own sweet time ( I guess he had a few deliveries lined up). Finally after making us wait for about 30 minutes he was ready to take us to the service center. The ride to the service center was riddled with negativity about Ford and its quality checking process. “Saab kal to aaram se khul gaya tha, aaj pata nahin kyon nahin khul raha hai”. Maybe the hood had a mind of its own or maybe it has Sunday off…
We get to the service center in pouring rain (that didnt help either). Service center guy comes out. Ok whats the problem. Hood doesnt open can you do something about it? Hmmmm…. service guys pulls at the hood release lever – and lo and behold (should’ve expected it) the hood opens with an – what else – opening sound.
Overall experience rating of a new car delivery 2/10. I hope 24,999 other have better luck than me
Thanks for your feedback Manish.
I have purchased Ford Figo three weeks ago after a test drive. All latest features, security and driving comfort are excellent in this segiment car’s. After the test drive I have booked the car immediately and car was ready for delivery the next day. And the dealer response and arrangements were good in terms of providing genuine information and timely service as per the commitment. Among the other 3 top models I found more diriving comfort in Ford Figo, and also this has more leg space (for front & rear) and seating levels and design are perfect. Interiors are good, and the music system is of high class. And good thing is no need to spend anything on accessories, except seat cover’s as rest of the things comes with the car which are essential. For the people who are looking for a good car priced between 4.5 to 5.3 Lakhs Ford Figo will be good option.
