What not to miss at Ford EcoSport roadshow in Mumbai

If you’re in Mumbai, it’s time to head to the Ford EcoSport showcase at the malls in the city (click here for more details).

And while you’re at the showcase, you will obviously check out the all-new Ford EcoSport—the cynosure of all eyes. But don’t miss out on the opportunity to check out some of the other cool tech stuff on display, and open to all.

Ford EcoSport in Mumbai

  1. The all-new Ford Fiesta: The all-new Fiesta’s techtastic features and best-in-class features are the complement to the dazzling EcoSport. Step in, take a look and ask the Ford assistants for help. They will take you through the car with the help of an iPad app. :-)
  1. Ford EcoBoost engine: This 1-litre engine is powerful yet fuel-efficient. A model of the engine will draw your attention, and a multimedia presentation will explain how this engine works to ensure the best performance while maintaining efficacy.
  1. Road safety game: Based on Ford’s Driving Skills for Life programme, this game console comes with equipped with a steering wheel and three pedals (clutch, brake and accelerator). In this fun and challenging game you need to collect safety tokens while driving at speeds between 30 and 50 kmph. Overspeeding and driving too slow both invite penalties.
  1. EcoSport game: This is a really cool motion sensor game and a number of young visitors to the showcase were addicted to it. Veering the EcoSport through winding streets with just hand gestures, you got to collect points. This game is for those who already love new gaming technology as well as those who haven’t played it before.

Other cool unmissable things to do:

  1. Get the RFID tag as you enter. So when you enter, Ford staff will tie a tag around your wrist and ask you to log in to your Facebook account. When you want to show your appreciation for a game or console, just hover your hand near a sensor, and share your love with your Facebook friends!
  1. Ford’s 3D technology: 3D technology is not just for immersive movie experiences like Avatar and The Adventures of Tintin, but also plays an important role in how Ford designs and develops cars. It’s an interesting and educative 3D experience, to say the least!

What the Mumbai tech bloggers say

Meanwhile, tech bloggers from Mumbai visited the Ford EcoSport showcase last Friday, and they were impressed with the car. Rohit Sane of Tech Freak Stuff says, “It was quite interesting to see how the all-new EcoSport has been molded for Indian roads. For instance, it’s got high ground clearance and seems large enough to fit a family. And I absolutely loved the design! It’s a beautiful car.”

Raj of Upcoming Technology especially enjoyed talking to Nigel Wark, Ford India’s executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service. “I was fascinated with Ford’s story in India as Nigel narrated. I got great insights into India being a unique market, with demand for almost everything here, and was impressed with Ford’s efforts to capture each segment.”

The Ford EcoSport showcase will be on display at Infiniti mall in Malad till January 25, and at Inorbit mall, Vashi from January 27-29, 2011. Drop by if you’re in Mumbai!
